Safari Wall Art

I made this wall art to match our kids' bathroom. This project could easily be done to fit any theme. Wallies are meant to be put directly on walls like little wallpaper decals. You soak them in water. I wanted wall art to go with our kids' bathroom decor so I ordered some jungle-themed WalliesWe have the Safari Shower Curtain (from a few years ago) from Target. I found these Wallies online and I couldn't believe that they matched the curtain so perfectly.

Items Needed
Wooden plaques ($1)
Acrylic paint
Paint brush
Ribbon
Wallies

First I painted the wood plaques with green paint.

Next I soaked the Wallies in warm water for one minute as directed.

I placed the wallies on plaques and used a sponge to remove bubbles and excess water.

Next I cut four pieces of ribbon to the same length. I hot glued ribbon onto the top corners of the back of the wooden plaque.

I always thought it would be funny to hang something in the bathroom that said, "Welcome to the jungle," you know, like the song. So I made this.

I first painted a white square canvas. Next I took all of the extra zebras and cut them out to spell "jungle." Then I cutout leftover hearts that I had to spell out "Welcome to the." I soaked them in warm water for one minute and arranged them on the canvas. Then I sponged off the excess water. Last, I used the back of the paintbrush to paint blue dots on the red letters.
